hey guys, i went to the dunes this weekend with the midwest trikers crew and when we goin out to the dunes for the last time i had a problem. the machine started bogging down and then it acted like it was flooding out then it died. i restarted it and when it would fire it sounded like there was compression coming through the carb and it would back fire through the carb. i was wondering if any of you have had this problem with your 2 strokes before. i am thinking that maybe it is a broke reed but i don't know. i am planning on taking the carb off and the reed cage later this week when i have some time and check that out but thought i would ask on here first. the engine still has good compression so i don't think it was a scored piston or anything like that and also when i pulled the plug it was running rich. by saying it was running rich the plug was black and sooty on the end not wet. thanks, chris

hi chris i`ve never had this problem with my tri z but my kart used to be fickle and bog if the oil fuel ratio wasn`t right, did it do it after you mixed some fresh gas? any difference with a hotter plug?

if it is backfiring thru the carb then i would check your reeds...for like 60 bux cnd you can get some boyseen dual stage power reeds....they work awsome
