So I need to replace my carrier (long story). Anyway, the LSR one I got allows the disc hub to go too far into the carrier and screws up the rear brake. After inspecting the LSR and stock carriers, I saw that the disc-side bearing in the LSR one is about 1/2" or so further in the housing than the stocker. The center sleeve in the LSR one is touching both bearings, in the stocker there is about an 1/8" gap. :wtf:

The shop I was at had another LSR carrier, but it was the same as the first. So she called LSR and they said that they had seen this before, that their carriers work in some 85's and not in others. LSR also said that they were unsure of how to remedy the problem......

So, has anyone ever heard of this? Anyone using an LSR carrier in their 85 250R? All I can figure is maybe Honda changed the dimensions of the disc hub at some point, but I really don't know.

Thanks,

Mark

I have a RAD one in mine..Bolted up just fine..Sorry no help. Is there any way You can make a spacer of some kind to center the brake hub back up? Will you still have enough room to get the axlenut/locknut on the splines? Good luck

Yeah, I ran into the exact same problem with mine. I figured all I needed to remedy the situation was a spacer but I couldn't figure out where to find something to fit just right. Then it hit me; the old center spacer is the exact right diameter and hard enough to take the pressure. I just cut a slice the proper thickness with my cut-off saw and it worked perfect!

Thanks for the replies! I returned the LSR one and am going to try a RAD carrier. If I run into the same problem, I will make the spacer and run it like that. Great info, thanks everyone.:D
