try heat, them penatrating oi. when area is cool reapply penatrating oil. should come right off. also use a brass punch and hit the brake hub all around then more oil.

I had a tough time trying to get the rear brake hub to slip off the rear axle. I tried everything with no luck. I was afraid it would need to be torched off and replaced.
I ended up makeing a plate to slip in between the hub and the bearing carrier housing.
Then I got three new metric bolt to thread threw the hub. I was able to basicly "press" it off by running the bolts tight against the plate.
The rusty splines didnt have a chance, It was quit easy, and didnt hurt the thin walled carrier ends...............

I GOT IT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hammered on the inside of the disc a little bit--thanks everyone for your help. Everything is off the right side(brake side)--now--do I pull the axle all the way through the chain side to get to the bearings?--and does anyone have the numbers for the front and rear bearings? for replacements?

yeah soon enough--I'm locked in on this thing now--since I've had it, I've only ridden that one weekend and it's driving me crazy! another problem though--when howie hammered on the axle, the nut (at the hub) smashed into the little pin that goes through it. I may have to remove the sprocket spline and everything on that side and slide it that way--can I do that?

Hey Jenn, I got everything off finally (banged on the disc for a while) thanks for the help again--I've got another question though-- do you know the size of the nut on the end of the axle (at the hub)? howard beat mine up and the nut is mashed into the pin that goes through it. I cut the pin but don't have a socket to fit the nut. Does that make sense? the size (mm) of the nut--thanks again

If I understand your question correctly it would be 27mm for the axle nut the one that holds the wheel hubs on, for future reference, It is the same for all the bigguns 350x, 250r and 86-87 200x (not sure on earlier years but I suspect so)...Lucky Guy my brake hub is STILL stuck on....:bash: Jen
