hey guys, i'm new here and have a few questions. i just bought an 86 200X the other day. i had one a few years back and loved riding it. ok now my question. i remember seeing a company that had a kit to convert it over to a 4 wheeler. a friend of mine put one on his 350 X. he sold the quad a while back and now i'm having a hard time finding anything on this. i would appreciate any info or opinions on it. later guys.

ok now this IS your personal choice to -destroy- an excellent and rare machine like a 86 200x but I will help you out, they sell for around $1400 and come with everything you need. yes---$1400, you can get a pretty nice used quad for that much cash .
Heres my opinion (and 100% of everyone heres I bet) on this conversion :bs: ::nono: :bash:
Good luck making a huge mistake,
Rob

Im with Ryder. Why destroy a perfectly good trike. If you want a quad, buy a quad. If you dont want the trike, im sure you could find someone to trade for a quad. If you do make it into a quad though, they ride like crap. The suspension is horrible and the handling even worse. DONT DO IT!!:bash: :bash:

i was just curious to know if they were still out there. for the price of that and what i paid for the trike i'd have a real nice down payment on a brand new quad.
200x_Basket i'm down in picayune, its about 30 minutes from the coast.

ok guys, I know you all have real bad opinions about the 3 to 4 wheel conversions. My problem is this, folks around here are real PROUD of thier quads, $3000.00 for a good used one. i bought my 200X for $600.00, $1500.00 for a conversion, that makes total cost $2100.00, not too bad comparativly. Unless one of you die hards will swap my running 86 200x for a 200cc quad I am forced to go the budget route.

Why don't you just be real "PROUD" of your trike, and laugh all the way to the bank at those inbred crackers you're surrounded by???
baaaaa! Don't be a sheep! The flock will lead you right off a cliff!

I seen 350x with the conversion and they were asking $800. So that poor guy probably bought a 350x for say $600 (very cheap) Put $1400 into the kit, so now he's up to $2000, plus maybe $300 (labor) for someone to weld it up for him. He has $2300 into his 350x and he's selling it for $800? Definatly not worth it. I wish I could have bought it and coverted it back into a trike, it was in Michigan I think.

Then are you doing the work yourself?? Labor is gonna cost ya. You will lose alot of control from what I understand the steering goes to crud once you do this. the 86 200x is a more valuable trike, especially if you were to ebay it and it shows up fantastic shape. another suggestion money wise is to just swipe the engine and put into quad frame. But Like I said good luck Whatever you decide...
P.s other guys....your not going to win an argument by name calling!!!
