I am looking for a cam to use in an '83 200X. I dont want the stock cam I would like to find one that offers some performance gain over the OEM cam. I have no idea who makes them or what specs to look for. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to get one and which one to get???

do a search for web cam on the net, or the links page on this site might have a link to it??? Also read the old articles on this site, it says you can use a xr or xl 200 cam or somthing.

Go to this website. http://www.whitebros.com/ATVSections.html
You will need Adobe reader (acrobat) to veiw the catalog. It will download a file to your pc. Open it with reader. The cams will be about half way down the page....it is under engine parts section... I got the all around cam.. Good luck.

http://www.webcaminc.net/ this is where i got my camshaft for my 200x. white bros, and powroll have them too, but i think all 3 have the same grinds. web just has more options, if i remember right. i hear the xr200 cam will work and give just a little more power, that might be a good option cuz it is not a regrind.

The XR200 cam will work. Its up to you wich one to use. Webcam and whitebros doesnt like to take cores now... They sent mine back...Nothing wrong with it...So I have a stock cam I think. I got a cam from Whitebros. If you do get an aftermarket cam, you need to get valve springs too. The stock ones will float out too early.
Good luck.
