since i bought my 250 3years ago i haven't been able to get a good pedal on the front, i've used every bleeding method with no luck. the best pedal i got was when i hit a tree with the brake lever and the brakes were great for 2 days after that. when i put the 250r front end on my 200x i had the same problem with that bike, to much free travel and a weak clamping on the disc.
i figured the 18 year old lines might be the problem and voila it was, i put braided front lines on both bikes and they have enough power now to lock the front wheel where before it would have just provided a little stopping power. the free travel is much better now also and it's maintained this for 3 weeks now so i think it's here to stay. the only thing with braided line is you have to put plastic tubing over it where it rubs on the guides or it will saw thru them.

Sounds like a cool addition. Was the braided line made for the trike or is it a custom set up.

Sidenote: How's that monster trike your working on coming along?

I foget what add I saw in dirtwheels, but it was for steel braided brake lines, and it had a little side note where it said three wheeler front lines also available.

i got mine out of summit from earls the 250 takes the 48" one, i'll look for the p/n i used because they don't list it in the catalog. it was about $45 each. i laughed when i saw the fastline price in rocky mountain of $120.
the 500r
i finished the boring jig for it and it looks like workwise the next week will be slow. it hasn't taken off quickly this year cause pete's working on his mustang alot and i bought the new ktm over thanksgiving. as a side note don't mini-tub a 93 mustang and install a 9in unless your REAL ambitious.
i won a new gas tank for it so we wouldn't have to have such a huge offset for the clamps on ebay but it never showed up. turns out the ahole was using his girlfriends computer and they broke up and now the poor girl is stuck dealing with alot of unhappy people.
i just won a 82 xr200 rocker cover that will hopefully go on my 200 so i can have a manual compression release, that things a bear now with the thin head gasket.
