on the bottom cover there is two different wires wound up a copper and a black ...when looking at the bike which color wire is suupose to be on the righjt side and which on the left side. the wire broke when i was changing the piston, and im not shure if i put it back on the right way. (its not smart to drink with your buddies in the garage when doin this kinda stufff...you tend to forget what goes where

i dont know about the wire??? there is a wire diagram in the tech section. to put the timing chain on i did this.
1. put the engine at top dead center. "t" mark lined up.
2. now slide the cam in with the lobes down.
3. now put the cam sproket on the cam with the cam lobes down. it helpd to keep the lobes down if the cam followers are not loose.
4. tighten the cam sproket bolts.
that simple. there is a tech article on setting the timing in the tech section. basically you line up the "f" mark and then tighten up the cdi plate.
i hope this helps

i forgot to mention that there is a "V" looking mark on the top of the head that you have to line the "." on the sproket up with. to do this pull the timing chain up to the "v" and mark the link that splits the "V" when you put the chain on the sproket make sure that link splits the "."
after i done mine it would not start. i had left the bolt that hold the rotating part of the cdi out
are you getting a spark???
