the problem every tecate owner has..
tecate and the rear hubs that only support
10 inch wheels
? does anybody know of a hub that will work
on the 85 t3 axle that i can use a 8 or 9 inch wheel
i have every possible modification done to this trike
and this seems to be my only problem
pro-wedge does'nt make a 10 inch wheel
for dirt drags

Macanic, try flipping through a Dirt Wheels mag. I don't have one around here right now, so I can't give you a phone # or website address, but I always see adds for Durablue graphite reinforced hubs, and they say these allow you to do different axle spline/bolt pattern combinations. Or, how about switching to a tire that is available in a 10" wheel size.

thats the problem there's nothing good in a 10 inch tire
ive got dunhopper's, skat- traks, sand sharks, some others
i need the maxxis 4 snow's or the pro-wedges to work
let me know if you find that number

Well, I just guessed at the web address & I was right. I went to Durablue's website & it says they offer a hub for Kawasaki Tecate/Mojave with a Honda 4/110 bolt pattern for only $180. Their phone # is 949-770-5533. www.durablue.com

go on ebay and buy a set of used 84 tecate rear hubs, then you can use 8" wheels.(i am thinking they are the same as honda, but check. i know douglas makes these wheels still for 84's) end of problem(prolly less than $20 too)

i do not have a camera(i can borrow one), but i am saying that 84 tecate hubs allow the use of small wheels, i know because i used to race them when they were new. 85 was the first year of the larger hubs(although both 84 and 85 used 10" wheels) look at a picture of a stock 84 andd notice the hubs and wheel centers...not like an 85 or later. my 86 tecate has 20x11x8 wheels. it also has smaller hubs . i am unsure if they interchange 86 to 85. if the hubs interchange, i will sell them (exchangeing the big hubs) and the wheels(which look aluminum to me, but it is hard to tell in the dark without a magnet) i did not mean the hubs were the same as honda, i meant the pattern on the 84 hub might be

84 and 85 interchange,(i know for fact as i used to flattrack my 85 and needed to buy the 84 hubs from the dealer in 85). 85 and 86 do not the 86 t3 has same hubs as a tecate 4. i have an 85 and an 86, i would have to remove a wheel from each to see if they interchange

my ex-racer '86 uses a small hub like the '84. I don't know what exactly the '84 measurements are to confirm the bolt pattern. I was told they're "4 on 4" whatever that means. They are pretty tiny.

the hubs on it are not like the 84 either, the 84 hub is round. my 86 has a smaller version of the stock cross hub. i guess i need to find stock 86/87 hubs too now, as my stock wheels and tires are like new

the hubs on mine are round, not a smaller version of the cross-hub like on my other '86s.

my god,how can i tell you in simpler terms here. they are interchangeable...this means that you can take one from 84 and put it on an 85! it has the same amount of splines, how do i know this? because they interchange! when the 85's came out, every ne who flattracked them got hosed because you could not get a small wheel on it, we all had to go buy 84 hubs at the dealer because noone made small pattern hubs till like 3/4 of the race season had passed. remember 84 and 85 tecates are almost identical models and have a large amount of interchangable parts
