87 xr200R top end on 85 200X?

Ok heres the Deal. I have an 85 200X with a junk top end. I have an 87 Xr200R motor with a new top end. Will the xr top end bolt on my 200X?

Doubtful. If I'm not mistaken, the '85 and up XR's had basically the same motor as the '86 200x's. But hey, you can always try.

See I think your mistaken. Everything looks exactly alike! Nuthing like my 86 motor

Yes it will fit(any year xr200 will) then you can sell your X top end to a ATC185 owner. If you have the intake boot and carb use that too. I think the carb on the XR is a little larger but not sure on that.

no i think not, the 84' model definately does not, its double carb, also as far as i know the only year to pefectly fit is the 82'-83'..because thats what i have on mine..

I'll knwo for sure soon, The 87 motor I have looks EXACTLY like my 85 200X motor. It should fit

i don't know what years but around 84 sounds right there was a xr200r. it was not the same as the other xr200. i think they had 4 valves and had two exhaust ports like a 350x. i think this motor was only made for a few years.

The 84-85 xr is a completely different engine. You'd know by looking it wont fit. From 81-83 and 86-02 they are all the same.
Put it on, it will fit.
