the cobra aluminum pipe ( not the jet) would be the best for that. and here is why
first the cobra aluminum uses a larger head pipe and the muffler comes with a short with larger opening "H.P." core vs. the steel muffler that comes with the "quite" or longer and smaller opening core.
the dg pipe is basically the same but they do not offer an optinal quite core and the headpipe is not as well made as the cobra and does not have as good as flow.
the cobra jet and its "basically clone" dg "krome power" are nothing more then show pipes with no improvement over the others.
the dg excelerator is nothing new on the inside but the outer shape of the muffler is designed to look like todays modern quad/bike pipes.
the supertrapp is a good pipe but it retains the stock headpipe which is more apropriate for mid range.
the bassani is a pur "race" pipe and are hard to find. if you can get one they are all about peak h.p. and not great for generall riding aplications

Yes the cobra aluminum pipe is loud, I have one on my 350 and wish it was a little quiter.

the Cobra is extra loud and "blatty." it may make the most power, but it sounds like ***. :D

thats the pipe i got on my 350x too, but i thught it was a "jet". the headpipe is a bit bigger and the "silencer" doesnt quiet it down a bit. when i put the motor in mine i ran it for about 5 minutes with just the headpipe and later with the whole exhaust. all the midpipe and "silencer" did was move the noise out from under your butt and put it out the back end. i wish mine was quieter. if i had a stock headpipe, id put on the stock muffler that i have because of the noise.

You ever tried using your cobra headers with the stock silencer?

i like the supertrapp because you can control the noise, too bad it costs so much and its only the silencer.

no i havent. i am very seriously considering it though. i have already had a couple complaints about it being to loud. i dont want to be part of the biggest problem that atvers face. noise is THE biggest reason riding areas get closed. i'll get the stock muffler out and see if it fits over the cobra headpipe and let you guys know what happens.

I think most of these pipes are the same size at the headpipe/midpipe union. I'm running a Supertrapp right now (usually goes with stock headpipe) with a DG chrome power headpipe (larger than stock, except at the coupling, apparently) with no problems...
That's a good point about the noise. I feel sorta guilty sometimes myself... Someone ought to get on the R&D bandwagon and develop hi-perf exhausts that sound similar to stock. I bet they'd make some bucks. Them California-commies are crackin' down at Glamis now, and the only people there are the ones RIDING! They carry a decibel meter around and write tickets.

I have a Trapp on mine... I love the sound of it, but didn't notice alot of perfromance add on. I just need a mid pipe..as mine is shot :(
Must suck for you guys ...Everybody around here can ride with loud pipe's.Does'nt see, to bother anybody.
Ridina350X Do you have a complete Supertrapp on your bike? If so are you going to sell it? I would be interested. I could really use a different mid pipe on mine

Let me know if you have any luck with the stock silencer with the corbra headers, I might go this route my self. Pipes don't need to be loud to make power. The dynoport single and can I have on my xc 700 is one of the best aftermarket pipes on the market and is only slightly louder than stock with a gain of over 10hp and 10lbs loss.

Cobra and Dg make pretty much the same pipes, not much difference , not much power gain either, Supertrapp is a much better pipe.

dg is way better i seen the dyno redults it adds more than the supertrapp and cobra. I have got a new dg rcm aluminum and it is 100% better than my old supper t:headbang: :headbang:

kinda funny considering Cobra designed and built the DG pipe for them originally.

Exactly, they are pretty much the same pipe, You could probably mod a pipe (more choices) from a 400ex and it would work much better than any of those old Dgs or Cobras.
