i would say 3 and try that, see how you like the longer swing arm. are you just extending the stock one? going with too long of a swing arm makes it easy to hit trees with the rear tires. so watch out in the trails.

I would go with 3inch.

Well i had a 4 " for a while then i went to 6" and i love it now so i say ,,, don't go any shorter than 4" and no longer than 6" it will really help keep the front down since your so light...

i chose four on the poll but now that i think of it and after what kasey said i think 6 would be good, and it isnt too extreme

Stock bike? Leave it stock length...learn to shift
Unless you really don't like how easily the front wheel comes up (I love the feeling!) then go with a +2. Would make it much more controllable, but still have the ability to thrust the front wheel high.

Da catt...I Have a spare swingarm, axle, carrier, hubs. The hubs are extended too, so I should have the ability to swap back and forth IF I wanted to. But the 250r will be a sand queen, I have the lil x for dirt and trails.
Dirt I dont have to learn to shift, If I dont wanna.......what you gonna do make me....;) ease up If I wanted stock I wouldnt have asked the question? but I did ask for opinions so you are entitled to yours as well......And yeah no I dont need the front to roar up everytime I hit the throttle, especially on a hill. Not into that for some reason.

Jen,
An extended swingarm makes turning alittle more difficult. But since its going to be a sand queen, its not much of an issue.
Kasey's 500R needs the +6.
Unless youre going to seriously mod your R motor or climb some :eek:steeeep hills, you don't need more than +4.
If youre going to extend, go +4, otherwise why bother.
There is another possibility. You could be a poser that likes to cruise around the dunes with a +12 chrome swingarm with the latest paddles and never races other machines. Just to see the :shocked:and fear in the eyes of yamaha riders.

I have a +6 on my 250r and I have no problems with it. The front stays down most of the time and its not really too hard to turn.
