Anybody have any success drilling out main jets or is this a no-no?

IMHO its a bad idea. I have a assortment of main jets, from a 110 up to a 145. I can see the difference between ones that are several sizes different, but between two that are next to each other, or ever a couple of sizes apart, the difference is really small.

Jets are not that expensive, just get an assortment.

I have more than once lowned on to someone in a camp, and they always come back with " WOW, that really made a difference, I have to get one of that size of my own"

i've had GREAT success in making money by properly rejetting carbs that others screwed up by "drilling" out jets.

dont drill them when you do you lose the brouch if you look at a real jet chart that tells you the drill size you will see that there might be three jetts in a row that have the same drill size the brouch will be different
