Hell, ill make one, how hard can it be, cut it and weld a section in but just remember to stagger the cut and splice them back for the strength. Sounds like a couple of hours to me. :chuckle:

I'm stretching mine 4' this week. I was a fabricator and welder for 10 yrs so shouldn't be a problem

Hey All,
I have a 1985 250sx and I want to get my swingarm extended. Here are my questions for the experts:

I weigh a lot, is this going to be a safe modification for me? If so, how long would be the most I should go?

Would anyone on the board like to extend my swingarm for me? If so, how much would you want for the work?

Thanks for your help.

I have never seen an extended swingarm on a shaft drive trike. I think it would be very dificult. On a chain drive trike you use a longer chain. For shaft drive, you would have to extend the shaft tube and find a longer shaft.

Don't extend the swingarm on a shaft drive bike. It's not easy to do, and once you've done it and found out that it was a bad idea, then it is very expensive to fix.

Lenghtening arms is easy, just watch out for the aluminum ones as they are usually cast, which isn't the easiest animal to weld. I have seen some very poorly done swing arms, so don't be one of those guy that I make fun of.

Ladano, why would you possibly need a 4 foot longer swingarm?
