i have a 110 that i'm rebuilding. it didnt leak before, just needed overhaul badly. well when i put the new head gasket on and put on the head it leaks oil in that area. i do put the cam and timing chain on before i start tightening the head bolts. am i getting the head in a bind and causing it not to seal around the head gasket and the oil seal around the timing chain? i've tried this several times and still a leak when i pull the rope. after the last time i did this and it leaked, i looked at the bottom side of the engine and i can see the head bolt stud on the bottom on the side the rear brake lever is on. could the timing chain being on first, and its tight, be causing this to bind? please help.

did you forget to put in the O-ring for the oil port to the top end. :D

and yes you should release the timing chain tension. so you don't bend or brake things
