this is my first post here, lets see how it goes

i can't seem to get the nut broken loose that is connected to the gear . i guess it would be called a pinion gear. i need to replace the bearings in the rear so i need to get it out of there. how do i get the bearings out also?

are the sprocket bolts on an 83 250r heat treated or just regular bolts with a thinner head. i am missing 2 out of the 4 and another is bent. can't ride till i get one of these bikes going

thanks

First off its probly out of your leage.
but here you go. You will need a speceal tool to remove the retaining nut that holds the bearing in place. you will need a brass bar to drive the pinion out so you do not chip the gear.
Then you brake the outter race off with a hammer, then grind two flat spots on the onner race so it can be clamped in a vice so you can remove the nut. then with a chisel you drive off the onner races. do not loss the spacer washer behind the inner races.
hope this helps. if you want to know what the tool is to order , buy a book you will need it to work on the trike.

I would go ahead & invest in some grade 8 bolts for the sprocket since you've got to replace them anyway.
