I have a completely stock engine and all, in a 83 200x. I dont think anything is removed, seeing as its been out of commision for over 2 years, and I didnt have much mechanical ability when I was riding it. So, I was wondering, what are some good free mods to wake this thing up even more. I have to remove the baffle, but need to drill it out cause there screws arent coming out like they should, lol. Any airbox mods or anything I can do. I know jetting and keeping the filter clean is the single best free mod, so dont count that. I just dumped $550 into it for a axle and all, so aftermarket exhaust and such isnt in the budget right now, cause I have to get stuff for the bike, and gear etc.
But, while on the subject, I cant find any supertrapp exhaust systems for my trike. I know they dont make them anymore, and finding used ones is hard. But, my question here is, what would be the next best thing, the DG sytem?
Thanks,
Max.

where did you find the Durablue axle for a 200X? I'm looking for a 2+2 axle for my Japanese spec X.

durablue still makes one for 83-85, 86/87 is long gone.

Eliminator 20-1115sp Axle Hon-250r '82/200x '82-85 Elim 2+2 (the 200x application requires a '81-82 250r sprocket) $489.70
I never knew the '82 250R axle fits in an '83-'85 200x swingarm. I'm gonna try find a used one before plunking down almost 500 greenbacks.

go to jl atv. I got the axle for 360 or something. It took some work with the dremel to get the sprocket on, but yea. This thing was a pain to get right, lol. Putting it on, taking it out, putting it on, taking it out, switching sprocket/brake. All that. A lot of guessing I must say..

Hmmm.. I guess I need to check that site. Why didn't you change to an '82 250R sprocket? Did you get PN 20-1115sp?
There really aren't many free mods out there. If you want to clean up your lean spots you should checkout the Dial-a-jet from Thunder Products (http://www.thunderproducts.com/). Other than keeping your trike well maintained everything else will require some greenbacks.

I did use the '82 R sprocket. It didnt fit onto the sprocket flange, so I had to grind it out a little. But, I am picking up a chain tommarow I beleive, I will let you know how it all works!

Some of us do not want the 6 monthwarranty HD axle. I can afford the Eliminator axle and I ride HARD so the lifetime warranty axle is a much much better choice for me. The Eliminator alxe for a 200X comes with a Durablue posi-lock nut, sprocket flange and is wider. This is the only axle you can purchase brand new for a standard 200x swingarm.
