ok...i am getting a brand new piston off of ebay...it says i will have to bore out my jug to put it on...it says my jug is 63mm and the piston is 66.5mm ...if i bore it out and put everything together...will it make much difference on the effect of the power and speed of the machine?? i have a 83' 185s

it will make some difference, but while your in there tearin the engine apart you might as well do some other mods too, or change some worn out parts like valves an what not

thats a big step, you are gonna kill your bore with that, despite what most people think bigger bores don't make a great deal more power alone, its the combination of porting, carb, and exhaust that makes power, I was always told only bore what you need to to clean the bore, anymore you are wasting rebuilds.

thats not a good thing deathman...by the way...my exaust is a kerker welded on to my original header and i have the stock carb and jetting so i prolly need to turn it up...but its not getting a spark so i might need to get a new coil or sumthing

Deathman is right...you need to only bore as much as necessary to fix a problem. If your trike doesn't need a rebuild then you are just wasting $200 in sleeve work by installing that piston. If you want more power there are other/better mods than boring one out to the max.

dam that sucks..well i wouldnt be paying for it to be bored tho...i can do it myself...but i get wat ur saying...o ya there is a jug and piston (slightly used) as it says on ebay....i was wondering if u suggest i get it or not...it is 25 buck for both and 10 bucks shipping so i can get all for 35 and be done with it but the piston will prolly not last long...hopefully long enouhg for me to get a job and then a new piston...should i get them or not??

well i desided to not get the piston from ebay...i got a 12:1 high compression racing piston instead...that way i barely have to bore it at all...i took it to the machine shop and they said prolly about 40/1000 of an inch and itll fit right in to it..sp its getting done right now and that should save me somebore left..by the way...wat should i do to the carb to get it redone? i have no clue how to do carb work..all i do is mess with the needle screws and it gets worked out somewhat

You need a service manual for that trike. Carbs are pretty simple and explain themselves once you take one apart. Get a manual and tear that carb apart. Is there something wrong with it? Is it leaking? If it is, the cheapest way to go is a rebuild kit (about $16) and it will have a needle valve and some new o rings to put it back together with.
