they are very fast three wheelers for their size but are not good handlers. the rearward placement of the motor has a lot to do with this. unfortunatly YAMAHA had little choice as in 1981 HONDA had patents on motor placement. parts for this trike will be hard to locate but are out thier. it is a two stroke motor whicj requires oil in the gas. however i can't remember if they were oil injected or you have to premix it your self. other members can help you out with that. but even if it is oil injected make sure the injector is working properly and/or even still on. some people removed them and mixed the gas/oil themselves

Hi, Thanks for the replies. No, I don't want to sell it and I don't have a picture of it yet. I still can't get it to start. It's getting a good spark and gas. I got the overflow on the carb. to stop leaking. I recleaned the carb and air filters. the oil pump has been taken off it. I also cleaned the reeds. Oh, I just broke the brake leaver on the handlebars. Any suggestion on what the problem is or where the best place is to buy parts. Thanks Terri

MY YT175 is a PITA to start sometimes too. I take the seat off, and put my hand over the air intake tube. This really chokes the piss out of it, and then it usually starts
