250r Reeds

My stock 85 breaks up at high rpm. I thought to replace the stock reeds. Would this be a good place to start?

how is your jetting? have you done any plug checks to see if maybe your just to rich? have you looked at the reeds? does it run good at low rpm's? :D :D

I bought it about 3 years ago and it just sat. I rode it when i bought it and that was it. I got the bug to ride it again. I cleaned the carb, and replaced the plug. It started on the 2nd kick. It idles fine and takes off good. When i want to hit the power band it just aint there. I'll check the jets tommorow. Stupid me I should have wrote the jet # down but I think the main was stamped 42. I forgot to check the needle setting too. Damit
