So my brother and I figured out between the 2 parts bikes we have we could get another YTM 200E together! We started tearing down the motors yesterday because our 85 200E had transmission troubles. Then we realized one was an 85 200E (reverse) and one was an 84 200 (no reverse).....

so we have the working transmission from the 84 200, but we need the stator side of the case so we would have reverse. We pulled the rotor off of the 85 200E with an automotive harmonic balancer puller..... it was tough! We did it without screwing up the rotor or the crankshaft (BONUS!!)... then we went to pull the rotor off the 84 200 and we broke the skirt off our good piston (F#@&!!) What possessed us to keep the piston on the rod while we were messing with the crankshaft? Brain damage!! Grr. We did get the 84 200 rotor off... it pulled so much easier than the other one. If only we hadn't had our heads up our asses.

So we're short one piston. Partsfish says it's a 54.00 mistake. Anyone got a STD YAM 200E piston for cheap?? I think any old YTM 200cc piston will work.

.....Frustration.
