Well I was under the inpression from what I've read, that 81-84 250r aircooled motors were interchangable, a straight swap, well I used a 82 bottom end in my 84 and was dropping it in tonight when I noticed the shifter shaft was tagging the frame, looks like its longer. Whats the fix for that????:doh: :doh: :doh: :doh:

so the 81/82 are a little diff. That the 83/84. I know the rear bearings were diff. Do the shafts interchange? or is the case diff. too?

it might be as easy as pulling the shaft and putting a 83-84 shaft in....................

I noticed the same thing, the shafts are interchangable. The 81's & 82's are a little longer.
