(cool site!)
I have a 1984 Big red 200 ES, excellent shape, been in storage most of its life. I just recently started having spark problems.
So I pulled the plug and laid it on the exhaust to see if there was any spark at all. As I press the START button, I see that it sparks
once and thats it. Turn the key off then back on again, same thing. One spark at the begining and then nothing as the engine keeps turning over. One dealership says "could be either the magneto or the rectifier or the CDI or the coil" the other dealership says "all fingers point to the CDI". A salvage guy said "if its the CDI, be sure to buy a new one cause they are only meant for so many hours of use". Anyone out there know fer-sher, fer-sher what this issue could be?!
thanks.
