what causes a 4 stroke engine to smoke bad. I have a little bit of oil coming out the muffler. Is it the oil pump.valves, is there any way to test this stuff

I'd guess piston rings or valve guides/seals are at fault... either way it will likely need some engine work.

is there any way to take the oil pump out and just mix the gas.

NO you cannot do this. without getting into a lengthy description of the differances between 2 and 4 stroke moters. i will tell you they have completly different oil lubrication needs.
