Dennis kirk sells Cobras for it for around $90.00. Or if you want it really loud. Just pull the muffler off and run a straight pipe from the head pipe back.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not doggin anyone....but I just gotta know.
Whats with all this LOUD crap? Everyone wants to be as loud as possible. I don't get it. If you're loud everyone looks over to see where the noise is coming from.....at this point you'd better hope you are as fast as you are loud or you'll really look like an idiot! I would rather be a quiet sleeper that blows thier helmet off when I go by 'em so fast!
Or maybe it's just that I spend a lot of time hunting and want to be quiet?
Anyway, just curious.

It as much about power as it is being loud. The more airflow you can get. The more air and fuel you can burn. And i like when people look. For one thing most people that i see on the trails have probable never seen a trike before. So i like to make sure everyone gets a chance to see one. And the exhaust seems to lure quads to you that want to race. And i will take every chance i can get to race a quad. So when your trike looks great sounds awesom and kicks butt. There is no reason to hide it.

atc185s-

I don't care how old you are....means little to me. The fact that you are riding trikes is a plus in my book! I was just curious why so many people want to be loud is all. I didn't mean to "diss" ya man.

When I got my 200's someone before me took out the spark arestors and that little plate underneath the exhaust....all to make it louder. I drove 'em for a bit then put the spark arrestors back in. Didn't change the performance at all, but sure quieted them up. The little plate underneath the exhaust...well they stripped off the bolts so now part of the exhaust blows down instead of out which of course makes the trike, or at least my hitch, filthy.

Thats cool nothingspecial i know you were just asking a question. And you are absolutly right just making it louder dosnt really improve proformance. It is all about the things you can do with your motor after it can flow air better. Like bigger jets for the carb. And more radical cams and such. And if you ever notice how dragsters have the short pipes comeing right up from the motor. The reason is to make more horsepower not to just be loud. If it didnt help anything i am sure them guys would run mufflers just to save there ears but it restricks the airflow. So for max airflow they just use a 1-foot long piece of pipe to keep the flames away from the plug wires. So just adding a new pipe to a machine might add a tiny bit of power to it. But you wont really notice the difference in the pipe until you add the bigger jets and cam and other add ons to take full advantage of the pipe. And i have to say with the power comes lots of noise. Here is the picture of the new racing pipe i made last week. And with in a few minutes i can go from quad hunter to changeing pipes and jets and take a nice family trail ride with the stock exhaust. So i like it loud when i need it for quad roosting:headbang:
