I changed the oil last night on both trike's, 200s went fine, so did the main tranmission but the sub-transmission on the 110 was all but dry when I pulled the drain plug. My question (although probably a stupid one) what oil do I put in the sub transmission? 80 90 gear oil or just the other oil I'm using (which is 10w 40)

There's another drain plug on the pull start side and a large slothead screw looking thing on top. My dad and me are guessing it is either for the whole transmission and the normal looking one is for the crankcase. Or the normal one with a dipstick is for transmission and crankcase and the smaller one is just for the "H/L" switch or subtransmission.

You and your pop have unfortantly guessed wrong. That particular bolt is there to give you the capabilty to tighten your timing chain. The Regular oil you are using for your other trikes, should be fine.

Jenndnn3 is correct. you just messed with your cam chain adjustment.
the sub transmission is lubricated by the same oil that lubricates your transmission. it does not have its "own" supply.
