Well after 3 days of work re-building my tri-moto 125 (long story so ill start another thread about it) I got it out today to warm it up before doing some adjustments and the pull start rope broke. Thinking the pull start is probbly just like the honda ones I rebuild too often take it off to rebuild it and the stuped spring came flying out at me  . Well now after 2hr and cut up hands I still havent figured out how to get the spring back in. I still managed to get it started by roling it down a hill and poping it in gear but I need to eather get a new pull start or if anyone knows any tricks on geting that spring back in it would be greatly aprecated.

easiest way that i know of, is to make sure the spring is dry, let the spring hang down below a bench, have the case of the starter on the bench, and instead of turning the spring, spin the case with one hand, and guide the spring into place with the other....

Same thing has happened to me, but I found a way to get it in and I can do it a thousand more times easily. What I do is I just take the spring and lay it on a table and hold the center with one palm firmly against it on the table and tighten it up a bit with the your other hand, its a slow process because if you try doing it to fast, you'll take your hand off at the wrong moment and it will spring everywhere again. Once you get it tight enough to fit back into the pull start cover, slowly pick the wound up spring off the edge of the table while holding it together, and don't let it move around and keep a good grip on it even if its killing your hand, otherwise it might unwind a bit and it wont fit in the pull start cover, and then your gonna have to start over. Then once you get it in, try not to bump the assembly around or turn it upside otherwise it might just spring out again. Good luck.

holy crap those honda pull starts are much more complicated than the tri moto ones
