Which is faster?, a 200X or 250SX. even though the 250 had a autoclutch will it keep up to a 200X?:fire: :lala:

the 200x will smoke it

:bs: the SX has more topend and in acceleration there's not that much difference there either. of course you can mod the 200x to be faster, but now I've heard of people putting trx300 jugs on their 250es/sx motors so it seems you can mod the SX too. :demon:

there's no replacemnt for displacement! :headbang:

I bet they are pretty close depending on which year 200x you are talking about 83-85 5-speed or 86-87 with the 6-speed. But i would guess with the weight disadvantage that the sx has off the line the 200x would pull ahead every time. But in top end the sx might be able to catch it depending on gearing on both machines. But i would run my 200x against a 250sx any day LOL:salute: :booty: :D

now the 86-87 200x is a whole different beast. I'm talking about the 83-85 5spd models. an 86-87 can (and should) take an SX in all areas EXCEPT the deep woods.

when two different breeds mix, it is a mutt. ;) scared, no way. i just have to finish it first :D it still needs a clutch cable and a hour or two to break it in. i plan to take it on the next trail ride if i can get it done in time and i have not sold it. i have guy that really wants it, if we can work the details out. if i sell it i still have the 83 250 that i will run you with :demon:

See Fuzzy thats your problem your toped out on your gearing I'm not . I can gear for 75 to 80 mph. Yes that right .

EAT MY DUST Fuzzy . lol

Fuzzy

Oh no not even close to geared out. The 200s bottom end run a tall 5th gear. Equal to the 6th gear in the 86/87 200x. But i still have stock gears front and back. I could go much higher with sprockets and tire sizes.

How are you going to gear up a shaft drive:bash: . You would have to put like 40" tall tires on it just to keep up with me.

So eat my dust:booty: :booty: :D

I beleive that is right if i recall. I only used that feature for a couple of days when Dan just got the new forum back up. And i turned it off because i post so much i was getting like 100 of them a day. But as far as i can remember that was what it did. If i get a chance tonight i will look at the settings and see if you can change that from the first post to the last. But it would make sence that it would want you to start with what they said in the beginning. Instead of at the end of the thread having to read all the posts going backwards to see what it was that someone was commenting on. But i will let you know if i find anything.

Sorry 83bigred we got way off subject there. As far as the bulbs go. I did some searching on google when i was looking for some bulbs for a old moto ski snowmobile i was working on. And i went to like wagner lighting and a few other brands of bulbs websites. And found all kinds of stuff i didnt even know they made. Thats about all i could suggest.

well i stuck a regular 9003 xenon blue automotive bulb in the headlight of my 83 200x all i needed to do was a slight bend of the fin thingys and it fit right in...i luv the 75 watt bulb it really lights up the woods...and blinds all other riders!!:demon: :demon:

If you have a batt you can even put KC lights on if you wont.

83BigRED
07-10-2002, 10:29 PM
what are those are they stronger then xenons. i like the blue ones myself

dads
07-10-2002, 10:56 PM
You know the lights they put on a 4x4 trucks role bar. KC is a brand name. you can clap them to the shock tub between the triple claps you will have to wire in a pug to your wiring harness for power an ground an a on off switch. You would also have to check the max out put of the charging system (volt & amp at dealer or other ) verses lights draw to see what the batt draw will be to determin how long you can run the lights before it will need system power to recharge. don't run your trike lights ,added draw. walla you have halogin day light.:D

83BigRED
07-11-2002, 11:33 AM
but what im asking is will my bike be able to handle just the single xenon bulb, cause i know they require more power.

07-11-2002, 02:35 PM
I had a 100 watt xenon blue bulb in a friends fourtrax 200sx without any problems so i suppose it shld work..but i found out that when ur riding with a bulb as bright as that u tend to get blinded by the beam and when u look to the side everything is just black..:D

dads
07-11-2002, 08:20 PM
It should handle one with no prob.
