I hear thanksgiving weekend is one of the big times to go riding. There's a bunch of guys from new orleans getting together to drive out there. It got me to thinking about it. A few months ought to be plenty of time to put it together.
anyone interested?

Looks like a blast! :headbang: are you going this year?
what do out-of-staters have to have to bring their rides down there? That was my biggest concern. :ugh:

Sounds like a nice haul but might be worth it.

Doubt Ill make it... maybe 05... If your ride is legel in your home state its fine there...You have to get some passes when you get there but shouldnt be a problem... Find a good group to camp with that have been there before, its a BIG place so youll want to know where the action is on that day(or night):headbang: Ive only been there once, so im not a expert, hook up with Rides red on 3 or AZ or a couple of the others that call it home and have a blast.. Its worth the drive... I know that:D

I'm going to try and buy an RV Thursday that was converted to a mobile computer lab. I figure rip out the computer desks and have a HUGE place to put some trikes & cots. :headbang:
Scott, I know you've been thinking about it. You guys all have plenty of time to schedule up some vacation & sick days. ;)

One thing that worries me is that you don't need ANYTHING to be legal here in MS. No title, no registration, no proof of ownership, no insurance, no inspection. Not squat.
All that's great for around here, but I don't want my trikes confiscated or anything.

I know if you do a little research you can get passes(stickers) for the time your there..If you can get them by mail before you go, or get them at the ranger station there... I dont know:confused:

I've heard stories of the rangers at Glamis can be a real DICKS sometime. They check everything on your bike. From registration to having a approved spark arrestor.
Here's a good site for asking questions about Glamis.

I have been to glamis like 5-7 times and have never witnessed rangers being dicks to anyone except for the ones who have a beer in their hand and they are sitting on their ATC/ATV. Also they get mad if u DONT have a silencer but allow two strokes to ride without silencers up comp. or olds. but must have them on they ride back to their camp. I have been to glamis with my atc250R when it wasnt registered i had no papers on it but went to the dmv and got a pass to ride for 1 month i was never stoped while riding and i didnt have the pass visble to anyone.

going the first time to glamis and doing it on Thanksgiving Day?
talk about baptism by fire....hehe
IMO you can bring your kids...theres no problem if your a responsible parent..they'll have as much fun as you will (after all, it's their sandbox too....)
I'm sure that those of you traveling a great distance want to know "for sure"...that you and your trikes meet all regulations...
I have friends come down every year from Texas and they never have a problem using the ol' weasel clause."We don't have to register them thar bikes in Texas, partner."
I know fees are $25 for a week, $90 per year
Neil Hamada works for the BLM. I called him and he said a non resident card is required and can be purchased @ several places by glamis, "Pair-a-dice" and a local gas station (sidewinder's) to name a few...cost is $20 per vehicle
you can order them online @ www.calohv.ca.gov
or
credit card @ 1-916-324-4442

I'd be honored to ride with you and your friends.....
we usually go to Gordons on thanksgiving but that doesnt stop me from coming out on a day run early in the week to meet ya...
we'll see...
maybe you might consider getting a permit and setting up a booth at the venders aisle...You can display the nick and promote your site.....
That would be better than buying a thirty second spot during the superbowl....

http://www.glamisdunes.com/Pages/rulesandfees/noncalifornia.htm
that is the link for people that are NON-california residents looking to goto Glamis. It just says if you have nothing showing you're registered and such for your home state, you need to get this permit/sticker that is good for a year to be able to ride on their turf. think it said 20 bucks. and lists numbers to call and how to get them.
