Well, I got my non running atc200 running after taking the entire engine apart and puting it back together using the manual...how its supposed to be. I am actually pretty proud off myself. It starts first or second pull and seems to idle no problem. So far so good....however...when I go to take it for a rip it has no top end power, only runs good with very little throttle as soon as I try to give it some gas it bogs down and runs crappy. I played with the carb idle screw and the mixture screw but neither seem to help. I checked out the plug and it gets carbon fouled pretty quickly (lots of black soot on it). The only thing I know that is wrong with the thing is the exahust is leaking where the pipe meets the muffler, not sure if this could be the problem. As well, there is carbon soot on the end of the tail pipe. If I look in the manual it says that I am running rich but I am not sure how to go about fixing this. I sure hope someone here can help me out..at least give me some direction as I am now officially lost. Thanks for all the help everyone has given me so far.

Allright as you said you It is runing rich....to change this you will need to take the slide out of the carb. sticking out of the bottom of the slide is a needle. take the needle out of the slide (there should be a "E" clip holding it down) on the top of the needle there should be a "C" clip on one of the grooves(there should be about 5 grooves) move the clip up one setting threrfore droping the needle down a little bit. put it all back together and start it up. if it is still runing ritch move the needle up one more groove. continue doing this untill the engine runs correctly. Also make sure that you are running the correct spark plug thats gapped to mfg specs. Also see if you can get a new gasket for the muffler.
hope this helps

The needle is already at the top. I do plan on getting a gasket for the exhaust...do you think that could be affecting how its running? I think I am probably going to get a carb kit and maybe play with the timing a little more...unless someone has any better ideas???

Are you running the stock jet right now.....is the choke working properly, check if the plunger for it is seating completely.

After some playing around it seems to have power at the top end but now it will only stat running with the choke on. Playing with the idle adjustment screw does nothing.

It needs a rebuild. get the kit.
