When replacing the front tire on a 250sx, be carefull that the new tire is not wider than the OEM tire. On one of my sxs, the front tire said 22x11-8 on the side, but it stuck out almost an inch from the rim. The OEM tire does not overhang the rim. The tire did not hit on the fork sliders when it was just sitting still, but the tire did hit when you were riding. I noticed that there was a groove worn in the slider. When I put a different front tire on today, I found that the tire had worn 3/16 th of an inch off of the aluminum slider. I do not know how much was left before I had a hole in the slider  I remember reading about someone else having this problem.

They have two types the balloon tire for the 200 big red and others and a narrower one I think it called a high profile. for the sx.
the balloons do work but you have to over inflate or it will rub a hold in your slide.

I had that happen on mine. The previous owner installed @#$%#%^ trailpros all the way around & they rubbed out the inside of the sliders until they were completely trashed.

Been there.. done that.

When i got my SX it had. and still has bear claws in the back and Mud Devil on the front.

it is a 22x11x8 ( i think i have that right ).... and the sidewall is ok, but the knobs stick out enough to rub .... and groove the forks up realllly good.

No leak yet..... but by the time i noticed it i had a thick groove !

i took a utility knife to it and shaved off the rubber and also took a few mm's off the sidewall as well.. 6 ply tires.. so it's not really a problem to shave them.. but still a PITA.

Yeah I got a new front turf tamer tire for my SX and it rubbed the fork, so i just filled it up to the limit so it made it skinnyer and now it doesnt rub.
