i have a 85' honda big red (atc250es)....it has a nutral and reverse indicator light. the nutral light has always worked perfect.....but the reverse light never worked(the bulb IS good)......then one day it came on,and stayed on. no matter what i do it remains on if the key is on...it is lit.......is this something "hung up" in the trans?.........think it will be ok like this?.....i have riden it quite a bit like this, seems to be fine. but i would like for it work right.......anybody know about these things?

On the right hand side of the motor, down low, is where the wires for the neutral light and the reverse light hook to the motor. I will amost guarentee that the wire for the reverse light was not connected, and is now grounded to the frame or motor. The connector for the wires is under a little metal shield held on with a screw.

Test the dash harness for the lights. I have two that have breaks and or shorts in them.

Unplug the reverse and neutrel switch harness on the right side of eng. if the light goes out bad switch. if not shorted wire.
