200x forks and 83 250r forks

anyone know if 86-87 200x triples will fit the 83-84 aircooled 250r fork tubes and frame correctly?:thumbsup:

no, you need a 350x tripple clamp. I just did that to my 86 200x. 84r front end, 350x tripple, the 200x caliper will work on the 84r front end. you'd be better off buying a complete 350x front end or a complete 83/84r minus the tripples and get 350x tripples. the 350x and 200x use the same tapered bearing and races.

ah ok. i ahve a complete R front end but i saw some polished 200x triples that were cheap is why i was asking.

you can use the r tripples, but the 350x ones are far easier to ues, as with the r ones you need to weld in new stops and cut the old stop from the x frame, buy 350x tripples, its far easier and also the 350x tripples angle the forks a bit more, so you get a longer wheel base. the r tripples are alot straighter than the 350x.
