alright the clutch basket on my 85r has some grooves in it,they are about 1/8 to a 1/16 of a inch deep, how far can i file them and should i wait to put the new clutch in until i get a new basket?i thought the clutch was going out but the plates look fine and are not warped.if i file the basket down will that cause the new clutch to wear premature.should i file it and reinstall the old clutch and see what it does?then buy a hinson basket later for the new barnett assembly?thanks

the problem with filing them down,,, if you don't get them all the same..... then you will have uneven contact on all the fingers. this could cause a broken plate,,,,:D :D :D

best bet is to find somone with a lathe and get em to turn the inside.. make it uniform.

it maters how deep your grooves are..if they are more than 3mm deep it is almost un save'able...barnett makes a billet basket with replaceable face's..im not sure if they make it for the r but it would be something to look into if yours is to far gone
