But it is for the kids so no bottle throwing. IF there was a speed regulator or governer (whatever they are called) where would it be located at? What exactly would I be looking for. The quads are Kasea 65's. 4-stroke. We are currently looking into getting a manuel for these things but not sure if they are available yet. I am sure once searching starts I will have more questions. Thanx Jen

usually these devices at least in the past are only a throttle limiting device. Look for either a throttle stop screw, device etc, if there is none, then trace the throttle cable to the carb and look around there. My buddies kids bike even had a plate or something on the carb that he could remove, it restricted fuel flow or something...good luck :)

Ok we had already removed the throttle limiter screws. They were located at the throttle. I was thinkin perhaps there were more some where else. The plate, do you know where it was located on the carb??? (towards top over somethin/ or somwhere else) Thx Jen

I don't recall, but I'll ask the guy it was on a pw80 yamaha bike, and if he could take the plate off it wasn't very hard LOL>>>I'll check with him and get back with you, but I'd think if it already had throttle limit screws it would be odd to have more than one device...

Ok will tell him that..... we got the suspension changed. And he did some other things to it. He was able to make them jump a tiny weeny bit. and pull a little more power. I am just double checking everything. We were told to get bigger tires. That is all we can do from there. He chatted with another at atvsource but we are lookin at a complete engine change.....forget that noise these aren't 2stroke not worth my time. But there usually always something you can do to make it faster. Pull safety features, change carbs sell the dam things, blah blah blah. Thanx Guys Jen

hmmm bigger tires, so you are wanting more top end speed obviously, what is the gearing like, is it sprocket and chain?? ON their website the 90 is shown with a back sprocket. If so, then do they make different ones? I'm sure you've already looked into this. I don't see a 65 listed on the websites I looked at, but found one on ebay, a 2002, so yours is so new not much to be found. Have you looked into uncorking the stock exhaust? Might have a big butt plug or baffle or soemthing in the end. Yes bigger tires would do it, but only to an extent. That would stink to pull the motor just for more top end. A quick search revealed this website
http://www.hetrickracing.com/kasea.htm
they list a racing pipe, boring and stroking mods, suspension etc...but again, they list a 50 and 90 two stroke motor ???? Contact them and see if they are making products now for the four stroke...maybe you could find someone somewhere with a cnc machine or something to custom cust you a front sprocket one or two teeth larger. Of course the motor may have a harder time pulling it up to the top end very fast then.

That is because those are 2 strokes. Most of your aftermarkets will cater to the racing market, Especially now that kids quad racing is becoming more popular. If you look into most of your mini quads they are 2stroke versions. We didn't know this when we first bought these. Now we are trying to just fix what we got until HE gives up and goes with what I want sell em. Until I will speed up the decision makin progress what you boys tend to call wife manipulation, by helpin him along.
By the way Kasey he said he did what you told him too.

jenn if those bikes are new ( 2/3 years ) dont go screwing with them ( mods ) you,ll kill your resale. your kids wil out grow them quicker than you think. at the end of summer, strat of school there will be alot for. just keep checking the portland paper and the north valley nickel ad. if anything from what you are saying, for there size/ weight. get larger rear sprocket. even if you hve to make them fit. let as much air out of the rear tires as you feel you can. flater the better. some how i done think your after a higher top speed. right ? you said somthing about going up sand hills. if you want to spend the money on them paddle tires are the only thing that will do that in this kind of sand. our oregon sand is not like sand any where else. this is very fine sand. but by lowering the gear ratio and letting the air way down it will help stay on top of the sand. i,ve had a lot of under powered toys in the sand. thats about all you can do. it wont be long and the kids can have the x.s. and you,ll have a 1100 cc mini buggy

Well I have more kids that is why he is stubborn..5 year old boy right behind the 2 girls. I agree I think when we have the kids we will just avoid sand. The toys are only 6 mths old. But I will let him get bigger tires if he wants it will help in the resale.
atc330r I understand everything you are sayin about gettin power but sand tire will not work on these things. 63cc 4stroke, it equals that 40cc 2stroke. There simply is not enough power there. And from the research I have done I am not gonna get too much more. They may help them get over firmer stuff but then I gonna be chasin them down on the softer stuff. So I will be patient.

i think i,am lost here. i was thinking you were trying to get it so the bikes could climb hills better. the bigger tire will lower the gear ratio. making a high top speed, but less bottom end power. the trick there willbe to use a larger sprocket on the rear also. the lager tires will only give you more ground clearance. the sprockets will be where you,ll see the major power or speed change. sprockets are a lot cheaper than tires. well maybe not. i put all new tires on a atc 70 for 20.00 each. i,ve been there on this one. when you come down this way put a for sale sign on them. start high. we have all the atv rentals around here. theres people that rent, ride. then want to buy. there,s a lot of big money poepl in these parking lots here. they,ll pay to get that little rug rat somthing to ride ( right now ) ya know.

jenn, paddle tires will work, made by skat-trak.
Called "Gliders". made for the small bikes so they come with 4-6 paddles. The sand lake store had a set a week before you went there.
I believe James Lucky carries these too.

(P.S: a better all around bike is the LT-80. They have made them forever so they have been time tested and can be found resonably cheap-around $900)
