When I got back from Sand Lakes the disk on the back of my 350x had cracks in it. One of them goes all the way from the inside to the outside of the area where the pads rub. Any clue as to what caused it? Im going to put a spare disk on, but I don't want it to happen again!!

how thick is it? sounds like it just got old and thin & the heat of the desert got to it. at least you caught it before it caused serious trouble.

my old one looked like a spider web brfore i changed it too ...there was 15 cracks all the way through tooooooo
That is called heat checking it is from riding the brakes to much or the caliper is not releaseing all the way so the disk gets cooken hot.

I had a problem with the caliper sticking a couple of years ago. probably paying the price now. It might be ok to leave for awhile, but Im going to change it.
