Alrighty, i've got my 250sx and it's missing the keyed ignition and just has a toggle switch on right now. Anyways, think i can just pick up like any type of keyed ignition and rig it up to the 250sx? an OEM ignition is 42.50 and i haven't been able to locate one locally. Think I could swap one from a similar honda quad like the utility fourtrax 250? Also, what do you guys run for air filters? a sponge or a K&N? If you use a K&N what size is it? I also tried cleaning my hypoid oil, wasn't a pretty site. It was light gray which indicates a leak somewhere and the level was wayyyyy high because it just came spilling out when i went to check it. Do I need to take off the bashguard and/or wheel to get at the drain plug or could i just tip the bike way back to drain out the hypoid oil in the transfer case? I think that is all my questions for now, I've got a pic of the bike on the pictures part of the message board. Thanks for the help.

have you tried service honda for the ignition switch? I think that same switch works on many diff. year hondas so see if you can find a quad junkyard.

use the small bolt on the side to drain it and the large bolt to refill. if you've been in deep water it could have gotten in through the breather tube. run it all the way up to the steering head to keep it out of water.

K&N makes a filter designed for the 250sx, just have to ask for it. Run either it or a UNI. Either one is just as good as long as you keep it serviced properly.

I will check a local atv junkyard to see if they've got anything for me. as for the gear oil change, i was running it through some deep and nasty mud on saturday. it was a complete blast, but now the differential is dirty. I'm not even sure the bike has a breather tube there, if it does i'll relocate it. I'll check it out the next chance i get. I might just pick up a UNI since those are like 17 bucks. How much is the K&N? those are usually more expensive than the sponges.
