spark arrester

after playing in the snow yesterday i noticed theres a little rust hole in the bottem of the exhaust (saw smoke/steam out of the bottem) is this a real big deal? is there an after market exhaust for the sx that isnt super loud?

You could probably find a good stocker on e-bay or the classifieds here.

yeah but i cant just get the spark areester right? i need the whole head pipe and all cuz the stockers are one piece?

That I'm not sure of. Hopefully, a 250SX owner will chime in.

Stock 250sx exhaust is two pieces. The head pipe and the muffler. The spart arrester is not removable like the 350X and some of the others. The clamp that holds the muffler to the headpipe is usually really rusty, may have to be cut off. I do not know about aftermarket exhaust, all three of mine are stock.

There is also a spark arrestor cover on the bottom of the stock exhaust. It sounds like you dont have one. Which isnt a big deal since some of us just take em off. I dont think you can but a new arrestor cover because they are discontinued I believe

yeah, i saw the camp yesterday while i was prepping it for the snow (its all plowed when i got up:cry: ) and its not the cover its further ack towards the middles its sorta like a crap prolly just a rust crack but i guess i gotta look into getting a new one

is it a real big deal tho? like it wont hurt anything....
