Coil question for 200X owners

Well the coil for '83-'85 Honda 200X has been discontinued and so has the coil which superceeded it.

Has anyone used a coil from a different model which mounts the same with no problems :shrug:

you try a xr200r coil?, they are bsically the same motor.

For 200X (185,185s and 200 models NOT 200S OR 200M)

Honda part number 30510-167-003 is a direct replacement as an 83-85 200X ignition coil it is from a
1983 Honda NH80MD AERO 80 scooter and is currently still available through Honda for about $40 from Service Honda.

The Hondas
XL500R, ATC 185,185S and 200 and several others also used the (same coil with different part numbers) which doesn't make sense but all have been discontinued by Honda.

I should note that this is for the OEM frame mounted TEC coil with the numbers BS41-CDI or AS41-CDI on them.
