I just picked up an 84 Honda ATC 200X. The guy had 1200 in it, wanted 1000 out of it, settled for 800, and then I traded him a deer rifle that I had 700 in for an even trade. The little ATV runs like a brand new one, cranks after the first few tries, which I think is mostly me learning to crank it.
The seat looks new, the carbeurator is new, the plastic is good all over, and the tires are worn in the back. The headlight was busted recently. The gas tank is straight. I have not rode in about 10 years, and then as a passenger. I rode a whole lot back in the early 80's. I enjoy riding this one around the neighborhood, and in a field close to where I live. I got it to take hunting more than any other reason. It certainly has more power than I can handle. I am glad to have it. I have already priced a ton of accessories for it. Best-

i recently aquired a mint condition '84 200X, to add to my small collection, and haven't had much of a chance to ride it yet, especially since it had a rear caliper problem, probably from sitting in a garage for the last 15 YEARS !!

How much money do you have in your new aquisition? If I could find out what kind/ how much oil goes in the crankcase, I would change the oil this weekend while I am piddling around with it. Best -

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the board! $700 is a good price for a nice 200x. If you get some pics be sure and post them. We are going to have a big MS. trike ride and probably a Louisiana dune ride all in about a month or so if you're interested in making a trip. :headbang:
you can probably find every part you need for a good price on ebay. however don't hesitate to post a "parts wanted" ad in the classifieds board b/c there are several parts sellers who check here often. I don't think they will try and :yup: you. ;)
Feel free to chime in on anything you see us talking about or start your own topic too.

Thanks for the invite, but I want to spend a few hours on it to make sure that it is completely dependable and all. My friggin shin bone already looks like somebody had a hold of it with a meat tenderizer. That kick start has battered me almost to the point of limping. I am trying to learn to crank it with minimal collateral damage to the leg.:) The tech advice that I have already downloaded from the site here has already proven itself to be invaluable. I saved the description of how to adjust the valves, and tighten the camshaft chain. Best -

Hey Terminator. Have you tried kicking your trike over by standing on the right side, facing backward ? Sort of like kicking it the convensional way ?It is the ONLY way i'll kick ours over......Troll

I agree- that's by far the best way to kick a 200X. I'm not tall enough/heavy enough/ strong enough to do it with a 350 though... That thing wears me out sometimes!
