I've got my 450R tail/brake light installed on my 350X. I'll post some pics of it so others can see how easy an install it was.

I know it's been a while since I installed the LED brake/tail light on my 350X, but here are the pics of it. You need to get a LED tail light from a 450R or a newer 400ex , and a hydraulic brake light switch from K & S technologies with part # 12-0010. The brake light switch has two blue wires that are routed up to the tail light area of the trike. Here is the tail light pic and the pic doesn't quite show all the LED'S lit up, but they are all lit.

Here is the pic of the brake light;

Here is the hydraulic brake light switch installed into the brake line fitting in the rear brake master cylinder;

Here's the pic of the wiring routed up over the frame to avoid the exhaust pipe and shock contact;

You take the original factory 450R tail light plugin which has the following wires;

1. Solid Green-which goes to the green wire plugin in the factory 350X wiring harness.

2. Solid Brown-which goes to the brown wire plugin in the factory 350X wiring harness.

3. 1 Blue wire from the brake light switch that you routed to the tail light taps into the Yellow wire on the A/C regulator.

4. The other Blue wire goes to the Green/Yellow stripe wires from the 450R tail light wiring harness.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Excellent, those pics help quite a bit.

Did that LED light mount right up on your stock 350X taillight mount? I wonder if it's the same as a 200X taillight mount.....

Glenn,

It mounts up to the stock 350X mounting plate, but you need to add some flat washers to take up the slack on the metal part of th bushings.

Nice!

Anyone know if the 350X and 200X share the same taillight mount?

Yes, they do. Same tailight same mounting.

86 200x uses same tailight different mounting, 85 250r uses same tailight, havent checked mounting.

Thanks Jenn! That's just what I wanted to hear.

So, all I need is the 450R taillight and the switch...I'll be good to go.

What about the front brake switch? Possibly use the master cylinder off the front of a 450R too?

Blown331,

You can use the same style aftermarket hydraulic brake light switch used on the rear for the front. Then just tie into the wiring from the rear and it'll work fine.

I did that conversion too I got a 3157 style bulb base and cut out the stock 250r socket them made the hole bigger to fit and I ordered the pressure switches from RMATV works great and every one should have them

Needing to know how to make it work? lol, still a bit green, I was away from trikes for 25 years. Where would the switch (hydraulic brake light switch from K & S technologies with part # 12-0010) go? It sounds like it connects to the brake line at the master? Is there a way to make it work off of either brake? Or a dual line switch? I would love this on my 200x. Thanks for the help.

You are correct Thomas. The switch is a banjo bolt with a set of pressure contacts in it. This will work for front or rear but if you want to do the front, I suggest finding a Honda front master with the switch built in. As for the wiring, its really pretty simple. replace the rear light with a two circuit (3 wire) light off ebay for about 20.00.. Wire the low intensity light directly to the harness. The high intensity light has its power routed through the front and rear switches and back to the light. I did up a kit for Jenn for front and rear brake lights. Wire routing isnt a big deal either. I hope this helps.

I know one model that uses the switch is the GL1000. Heres one...
