Correct term shaving the flywheel, I am going to do this too my tecate pretty soon I know it is not a 200x but the gain is simple, less rotating weight= more power and quicker revs.

Check your terms, the rotor goes on the crank shaft over the stator. I don't remember reading about the flywheel in the honda manuel.LOL But I know we're talking about the same thing here. Quicker rev's and a little bottom end lose, just how much gains vs the loses is what I'm trying to balance out. The local honda shop has one and its shaved nearly to the magnets. He won't sell it but told me I can measure it.

There was one on e-bay for my Tecate, it was shaved of 80% of its wieght, the article Blazerone22 said it added 8-10hp, it was out of a old dirt wheels I belive.

The 2 strokes bennefit more than the 4. What is the base hp on the tecate? I believe the 200x only made around 14hp.

its usally called a lightened flywheel  , you ever look in a magazine where they sell em(for dirtbikes) they casll em flywheels too, so imn guessin we are talklin bout the flywheel,no?
under pressure its not as good, like hillclimbs etc, they usually add more weight for that, but if your not woods ridin or hillshootin i guess you would benifit greatly from it

well if your gunna lighten the flywheel, you cant balance anything out like that, your gunna be losin bottom end  unless you did something else like a cam tha gave you more bottom end...What are you trin to balance out....and yah 2 strokes get a much larger benefit over this mod than a cammer....
