I can't seem to find on here who makes a big-bore kit for the air cooled motors. I am getting ready to send mine into a shop to do some transmission work, and thought I might as well punch it out and do it up right!

Custom Craft used to do it, they go by Kustom Kraft now, so who knows if they still do.

i was in ur posistion about a year ago wondering about big boring my 83 R but for the money Kustom Kraft wants for a 295 big bore (440) after tax. its really not worth it. trust me i had two 83Rs one almost stock, pipe, after market silencer milled head bored 80 over cylinder it came out to a bore of 272. k then i have a 83R that before i used the resleeved cylinder with it had a stock ported and polished cyclinder rad valve, 34mm carb answer piep and silencer and a uni filter with no air box lid. HANDS DOWN!!!!port your stock cylinder go to the next size bore with a h/p weisco piston mill the head and you will be fine i now have a resleeved 300 cylinder on my 83R thats ported polished and all the stuff the stock one had except different jetting. trust me dont spend the bucks on bigger bore that might show larger gains on the dyno. all my father has noticed since he rides it mostly is that it has better low-end and midrange and improved top-end he says the stock one rev faster and did everything almost the same, i recomend porting polishing the cylinder (200) new top-end (200) stock 86 R carb (85 is good but 86 quicker throttle response) (ebay). boyseen reeds,v-force reeds(ebay or 141.99 Denis Kirk) no air lid (FREE!!!). and you will have a hot runnin air cooled that will be close to how fast a trx250R runs. if u go dg pipe and silencer it will give u a few more horses in spots, mostly improved low-end and midrange nothn special on the top but u will have a good air cooled R
