ATC 500r tips

I am building a atc 500r. Any pointers out there. I have a 85 250r and an 86 Cr500 motor. Any help would be great...Thanks, Greg.

might ask this guy (http://atc250rlen.homestead.com/atc.html ) from what i read its not to bad. If you look around on this sight they talk about doing them there two done on here. just hope you have better luck than the last guy ?:eek:

What happened to the last guy? I just want to make a fast hill shooter and cr 500s are power monsters.

Short story shorter: 6 weeks ago, 3Wheeler.org member Gasmask2008 crashed it on a test run, broke his wrist, broke his neck in 3 places. Now carrying screws, plates, synthetic bone, and plastic vertebrae.

As to the Power of the CR500:
"remember in my old forum i mentioned that i had to spary starter fluid in the carb to crank the atc500. i took the carb off a cleaned it. put it back on and made 1 test run...on the 2nd run i had it wide open finally feeling the true power of a cr 500 . some guy on a banshee pulled out in front of me and Stopped...why?? no idea...now in front of me was a car, the 4 wheeler and a mail box...i locked the rear brakes up and applied the front...i still had alot of speed. so i tried to squeeeze between the 4 wheeler and the mail box...next thing i remember was being i the emergence room..."

OUCH!!!! been there, done that. Speed can be deadly, but I was fortunate to see more days of riding ;)
