Ordered the usual sprocket and chain kit from rockymtn and the rear sprocket (steel) has a lip on it - not seen this before. Any ideas on the purpose? Tooth number is stamped on the non-lip side, so I guessing the lip is supposed to go on the inside to protect the swinger? Dunno looks like it will get in the way of the adjustment so I'll probably put it on the outside unless anyone can think of a better explanation.:wtf:

looks to be a out side sprocket guard.

I would call RMATV and ask them, they sold it to you.

Mine is like that, it goes to the inside.

Doesn't affect adjustment too badly and is kind of nice to have ;)

That's an '85 style sprocket. If you've got an '86, it might not work. I'm not positive but I think that ring is to stiffen the sprocket and keep it from flexing.

Ahhhh sooo, this IS for the 85 and the ring on the inside may just cover the flange and not interfere with the adjustment - thanks all. I guess I need to get off my end and add to my sig that I have both an 85 and 86 R.
