I was looking through Dennis Kirk and notice they only list the rear wheels for my Big Red. Since all the wheels and tires are the same size, will they also work for the front as well? What kind of tire should I go with. I don't really want to do any mud slinging, just riding. But I also want to go with more than the standard knobby. Thanks for the help.

you just about can't beat wooly boogers for all around riding. the stock honda front tire by ohtsu is the best bet for the front. the boogers out back will take you anywhere you have any business going on a big red. :headbang:

I'd like to know about front to rear wheel interchangeability myself. I'd stick with the 25x12-9 size that came stock.

I want to replace the rims with aluminum ones. Also the front rim is disgusting and needs a new one. Will be more worth it than trying to sandblast and paint it. Will putting an aluminum on the front hurt anything, or should it be steel?

There isnt a big difference between the front and rears. But you do want to get a tire for the front that is listed as a front or rear. I have found that the ones that are listed as just rears are fairly square on the top. And they dont do well at turning at high speed. The ones for the front are slighly rounded and can take a little slidding with out digging in and flipping you.

I bought one for my 200s that was like a wooley booger clone. And it was listed as a rear or front tire. And it worked great in mud and soft surfaces where it could dig in. But on hard surfaces it was worthless. It would just slide. It was to knobby and couldnt get a good bite unless the tire could sink into the surface some. So for all around riding i hated it. So from now on any new tires i buy for the front are going to be stock knobbies just like they came with stock.

as far as the rims go it dosnt make a difference between the aluminum or steel. But the aluminum are more money and designed to cut weight down for racing. On a big red i would just go with the cheaper steel one. Shaving a pound of two off the big red with aluminum isnt going to make much difference at all.

I was thinking of these tires. What do you all think of them. Will they be ok for the rear? Yes good idea on the stock front tire. I will buy one from Service Honda.

They would be perfect for the front or the rear. You see how they are rounded on the sides. Now that is what you are looking for on the front. But they look like they would have good traction in the rear also. And you might want to check the price at service honda on the rim. Dennis kirk sells them also. And if you are going to order the tires from them you might as well get the rim from them also. I think they still have free freight. And it will get there a lot faster then ordering from honda.
