i just looked up the bore and stroke of both the 1986 yamaha xt600 and the yamaha raptor (early 2000's) and it appears that the stroke is the same, just that the bore is 5mm less on the xt. judging by this i am curious as to if an xt600 jug could have the sleeve popped out and milled so that a stock 660r sleeve could be inserted. anyone here with experience in this sort of thing, could this be done ?

No experience with this case but I do have experience in finding these type of swaps. The bore and stroke can be as close as identical but if the pin diameter and the distance from the center of the pin to the top of the piston is different you'll be SOL. If you call Wiseco tech support they can look up these kind of specs for you and let you know how possible it may be. The piston skit can also be a problem and you also have to consinder if the rappy sleeve will be able to be fitted into the case halves too. You may have to bore the case halves or it may not fit at all. LA sleeve may hav ethe outer diameters of these two sleeves for you.

The bottom half of the motor, the 2 case halves. It's quite common to have to bore them out as well as the cylinder to accept a bigger sleeve.

ahh ic, yea i would more than likely have to bore them out too.
