timing a 125m

I just recently swapped out my bottom end for another and need to reset the timing. I know how to look for the tick marks, but where does the one on the cam sprcket go, straight forward, or straight up?

cam mark depends on if the chain gear is put on right.
point cam lobes down away from valve rockers.
most gear marks point up on cam.
