I posted this before but didn't get much input... my clutch will not disengage when i try to shift gears. It also stays locked when sitting at an idle which makes the 3 wheeler keep moving. Is this how it acts when the clutch is burnt up? The whole mechanical part that is supposed to disengage it when you shift up or down is working, so i'm thinking it has to be in the clutch. Plus i have taken the clutch apart completely, cleaned it, soaked it in oil like a local mechanic told me to, and it didn't make any difference.

did you check the centrifugal (excuse my spelling) clutch? . one of the springs might be broke.
if the change clutch is ok and adjusted properly, then that would be my next choice.

The cent. clutch is in good shape from the looks of it. I'm about ready to give up though

Don't confuse the 2 clutches, If it's rolling in gear then you are idled too high or have a centrifugal clutch problem. This clutch does nothing when you shift, it works on motor RPM's when taking off in first or if you are in too high of a gear when rolling along. If your mechanics best advice was to soak it in oil then stay away from that clown. You ned to better explain your problem and I'll try and help. Has it been apart before you got in there? Is this a new issue? when did it start? Is there any jumping when you shift or is it smooth? Is it smooth upon taking off from a dead start? Did you adjust the MANUAL clutch by the service manual?
There is no Centrifugal clutch adjustment only the manual clutch.
Don't give up, it's something easy and stupid you just need to describe the actual problem and it's history a bit better.
Did you adjust your clutch right. (stud with lock nut on right cover)

I figured it out. After taking everything apart several times I noticed the arm that moves when you move the shifter was bent and not catching where it needed to. Bent it back and it worked, i must have done it when i took it apart the first time or something.
