how can i get my R's studs out

im gettin a spacer plate for my 86 R, and along with that i have to get a longer stud kit, so im wondering if any of you know how to get the stock studs out? what im thinkin is just to latch onto em with a pair of vice grips and turn them out, but i figure there should be a better way that wont ruin them completely (is there?).

take 2 of the stud nuts, thred them on then use 2 wrench's and tighten them agaist each other than use 1 wrench on the bottem nut and start turning out and the stud SHOULD start comming out as long as it isnt rusty.
