350x is blowing bulbs as soon as i put them in

i didnt want to spend the 21 bucks for the 35/36.5s that are supose to go in to a 350x

so i got some 30/30s and when i put them in they are fine at idle but as soon as it revvv it up they get super bright then they all burn out.

anyone have an idea of what could cause this? and what is a jerry rig type of fix. going to the dunes tomorrow as soon as i get home from work.

would a higher wattage bulb be the cure like putting in a 45 in each side or only putting one bulb in???

The AC voltage regulator on your trike is the problem. It is mounted on the back of the airbox. Check to see that it is there, and that the wires are plugged in. If they are, the it has gone bad.

anyone know how much and how hard to find a voltage regulator is for a 350x. what other regulator will work?

Honda part number is 31410-HA5-671. Is available from servicehonda, but $70.46. Ouch.

I think it is the same as 85-86 250R. I would watch ebay, they are out there, did not see one today.
